1. CHECK MAGS!

   • Grounds the Magneto.

   • When you turn the mag switch off, it creates a short circuit (called grounding) in the magneto coil, preventing it from working.

   • The wire responsible for grounding is called a P-lead.

   • Prevents Accidental Engine Turnover.

   • An un-grounded mag can be dangerous.

   • If someone accidentally (or intentionally) moves the propeller while parking the aircraft, an un-grounded mag can cause the engine to turn over unexpectedly.

   • Cycling the magnetos to the “Off” position ensures that the ignition system is safely disabled during shutdown.

2. Pre-Flight Checks:

   • Conduct thorough pre-flight inspections of your aircraft.

   • Verify fuel levels, control surfaces, and systems.

3. Weather Awareness:

   • Monitor weather forecasts and conditions.
